Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data is processed when you visit this website, for what purpose, and what rights you have. Because the publisher is established in the European Union, European data-protection law (the GDPR) applies to its processing; visitors in Canada are also protected under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

2. Visiting the website and server log files
When you visit this website, your browser transmits data to the server for technical reasons. This data is recorded temporarily in a log file: the IP address of the requesting device, the date and time of the request, the page requested, the previously visited page (referrer), and details of your browser and operating system.
Purpose and basis. This processing serves the technical operation, security and stability of the website and rests on our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). The log files are deleted or anonymized after a short period, unless they are needed to establish a fault or misuse.
3. Hosting
This website is hosted by a service provider that processes the data solely on our behalf and on our instructions (a processor under Article 28 GDPR).
4. Fonts, icons and external content
Fonts and icons are loaded from our own server. No data is passed to third parties (such as an external font network) for that purpose. Apart from the measurement pixel described in section 8, we do not load external content that passes your data to third parties.
5. Local storage in the browser
For necessary functions we use your browser’s local storage (localStorage), for example to remember that you have seen the notice at the foot of the page or that you have objected to the measurement pixel. This data stays on your device and is not passed to us or to third parties.
6. Newsletter
If you sign up for the newsletter, we process your email address to send it to you. The basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future, using the unsubscribe link at the foot of every newsletter or by an informal message to [email protected]. The lawfulness of processing up to the withdrawal is not affected.
7. Contact
If you contact us by email, we process your data to handle your message. The basis is our legitimate interest in replying (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
8. Reach measurement with the Taboola pixel
Visitors reach this website mainly through ads in the Taboola recommendation network. To measure how effective those ads are, a Taboola measurement pixel is included on all pages of this website. It loads on every page view.
- Provider
- Taboola.com Ltd. and affiliated companies, including Taboola Europe Limited and Taboola Inc. (USA)
- Identifier used
- Pixel ID 2089080
- Script loaded
- cdn.taboola.com/libtrc/unip/2089080/tfa.js
- Event triggered

Data processed. When the pixel loads, the following are processed among other things: your IP address, details of your browser, operating system and device, the address of this website requested, the previously visited page (referrer), the date and time of the request, and identifiers stored in the browser that can recognize your device.
Purpose. Measuring and analyzing the effectiveness of our ads, attributing page views to ads shown, and optimizing ad delivery.
Basis. We base this use on our legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR in measuring the effectiveness of our ads. You can object to this processing at any time under Article 21 GDPR; the option is directly below. For visitors in Canada, this measurement is carried out on the basis of implied consent under PIPEDA, and the same objection option applies.
Transfer to the United States. As part of the processing, data is also transferred to locations in the United States. For the USA there is an adequacy decision of the European Commission (the EU-US Data Privacy Framework); in addition, standard contractual clauses under Article 46 GDPR apply. Despite these bases, it cannot be fully excluded that US authorities may access the data and that you may not have the same remedies as within the European Union.
Retention. The retention period of the identifiers set is governed by Taboola’s own rules. Details and Taboola’s own privacy information are available at taboola.com/policies/privacy-policy.
Object to reach measurement
You can object to measurement on this device at any time. The note of your objection is stored only locally in your browser and is not transmitted to us or to third parties. It applies until you clear your browser’s site data.
Object to reach measurement now
Withdraw the objection
Independently of this, you can prevent identifiers from being set through your browser settings and use Taboola’s opt-out options.
9. Recipients and transfers to third countries
Recipients of data are our hosting provider (within the EU) and, as part of reach measurement, Taboola (see section 8, with transfer to the USA). Any further transfer takes place only where there is a legal basis.
10. Your rights
You have the right of access (Article 15 GDPR), rectification (Article 16), erasure (Article 17), restriction of processing (Article 18), data portability (Article 20) and objection (Article 21). Where you have given consent, you can withdraw it at any time for the future. Under PIPEDA you also have the right to access and correct your personal information.
To exercise these rights, a message to [email protected] is sufficient.
11. Right to complain to a supervisory authority
Without prejudice to any other remedy, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority. In Canada this is:
Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada
30 Victoria Street, Gatineau, Quebec K1A 1H3 — priv.gc.ca
As the controller is established in Germany, the German supervisory authority for the state of North Rhine-Westphalia is also competent: Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen (LDI NRW), Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf — ldi.nrw.de
12. No automated decision-making
No automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR takes place.
13. Changes to this policy
We update this policy where changes to the website or to the legal rules make it necessary. The current version is always on this page.
